Laura Brandt-Erichsen

Hi there! I’m Laura, the middle child in this sister sandwich.

We grew up in a family that loved creating. Quilting in the winter, watercolor in the summer. Knitting hats, scarves and socks. Countless Wearable Art Show garments of papier-mâché, chicken wire, spray paint, yarn, hot glue, old corks, feathers and handmade stencils. Plein air painting with my grandparents. No medium was off limits.

My dad gifted me with pottery classes through the Bainbridge Island parks and rec at Eagledale Pottery Studio in 2024 and I fell in love with clay. I logged hours on YouTube watching video after video of potters and their work. I signed up for a second class, then a third. I bought a wheel off facebook marketplace because it was hard for me to find time to go to a studio with three kids 5 and under. I began throwing after bedtime stories and on the weekends.

Time in the studio is limited during this season of life. I often have little hands coming by to help me or add their special touch to pieces. Being able to see the joy in the spark of creativity in my little ones faces makes my own desire to create burn that much brighter.

So come along and create with me! I look forward to meeting you all at future markets and hope that you can find a spark of joy in my pieces.
